Buddha helps Book Distribution

Lord Buddha

Hare Krsna Prabhus and Matajis

Here are some nectar stories about how Buddha helps the book distribution.

Buddha helps Chinese man get Gita

I was distributing door to door with Bhakta Rori in Hamilton, New Zealand. We were walking by one house when I saw that a Chinese man was already standing outside. I called out hello in Chinese and said the Chinese words for monk and temple. He seemed to be ready for me to approach him. I showed him the Bhagavad Gita using every single Chinese word I knew and he turned out to be receptive and ripe for Lord Caitanya's mercy. He explained that he was a serious Buddhist and I explained how this is the culture that Buddha came from. It was a great exchange and come donation time he went and got $20 for the Bhagavad Gita.

Buddha ki jaya! Lord Caitanya ki jaya!

Looking for Buddha but finds Krsna

I was at the Frankton market in Hamilton, New Zealand, and it was towards the end, all the stall owners were starting to pack up. I stopped a young man and showed him Bhagavad Gita.

He said he was just getting into Buddhism and asked about that. So I told him this is the same culture as Buddha had come from and he ended up really liking the books.

But he asked about mistranslation and interpretation. I explained to him that this is always a possible issue but Srila Prabhupada is coming in disciplic succession and I showed that to him at the end of the introduction of the Gita and how Prabhupada has given the Sanskrit, Roman transliteration and English with his purport. I also explained to him that the proof is the character of a person, the example a person sets. I gave him an example to demonstrate the point. I said, "If you saw the Dalai Lama in a bar drinking and swearing you would think that this guy is bogus."

I then showed him Prabhupada's biography and told him that you can see the Gita's teachings applied in the life of Srila Prabhupada. He then pulled out $40 and so I loaded him up with a Gita, Journey of Self Discovery, Your Ever Well Wisher and a Raja Vidya. Srila Prabhupada's exalted character ki jaya!

Waihi door to door wonders

I was going door to door in Waihi, New Zealand, and went to this house where a very nice, friendly lady (Joy) answered the door. She was wearing a Japanese t-shirt so I asked her if she had been to Japan, which she had, and I took the conversation from there to Prabhupada's books.

She loved them (She was really into Buddha) and was using words like wow, wonderful and amazing. She went to get a donation of $5 and was so happy to take the "Journey of Self Discovery." I gave her contact details to get in touch if she wanted more books. Later, I was coming back down on the other side of the street and she walked up to me again and gave another $10. I wanted her to take the Gita but she was so happy with the JSD and left with a smile.

Door to door austerities ki jaya!
