1 of 21 The HARE KRISHNA film’s impact
My father in the former USSR knew about Krishna consciousness since 1985,
when my brother and I joined the movement. Although my father is very kind
and devoted to his family, he has always been skeptical about Krishna
consciousness.
It was in June, 2020, that he had a turning point in his views. It happened
after he watched the movie HARE KRISHNA! on the life of Srila Prabhupada. It
was free on YouTube during the lockdown. I watched the entire movie with my
father. After the movie ended, I could see that my father was touched, and
even when he spoke, I could hear that his tone of voice was different.
After that, I started to regularly read Srila Prabhupada’s Srimad Bhagavatam
with him. He would keep asking me, “When will our class begin today?”
He says that he can’t understand everything, because he is an atheist, but
he listens almost every day. It is really amazing.
I also shared the film with a Christian lady who is a friend. She was so
impressed and delighted that she shared the film with friends in her
religious group. I am so happy to see that this movie touched the heart of
my father and the hearts of many people.
