Brothel
A funny thing happened to me the other day.
One boy stopped me on the street asking about the books I was holding. He told me he was stressed out, he was suffering from schizophrenia and some sexual disorder. He came to St Marys that day, a small town about 40km west of Sydney Australia. He was so stressed out he said to me he needed to go to the brothel and spend $85 for half an hour to alleviate his disorder.
I gave him quotes from Srila Prabhupada and 5.22 from the Bhagavad gita how lust cannot be satisfied. I said to him, "This book will fix all of your problems at the root and it may even make you a celibate monk!"
He laughed at the notion. I could see he was sincerely trying to understand how to end his suffering. Then I said, "Instead of getting a temporary fix from the brothel give me your money in exchange for a set of these books. Then you can find real happiness, I have."
He was undecided then he said, "Alright, we can go halves." he handed over $40 and got a set of books. He said, "In this way at least I'll have something to show for it." He thanked me, gave me his contact, got another $40 from the cash machine and took his new books to the brothel!
