Here are two stories from the previous Fridays, the 12th, encounters While out with Bhakta (Rupa) Richard of Denver we were talking about increasing the amount of donations that we would accept from the donators. So the amount of 50$ US was thrown out and we went from the van to the parking lots here in Missouri for a shot at it. As it turned out one very tall and hard to miss dark skinned man came out of a cafe only to find the me waiting for him at his Corvette. He easily listened to the comments about the facts in the books, cover to cover, and walked to the nearest bank machine and then asked how much? The number 50 was mentioned and he told me to give him some change for 60. It turns out that this man was a former professional athlete in one sport or other and in town works as a consultant, His name is Lee Buckley, maybe someone has heard of him?
That night Bhakta Andreas of New York and I went to the G-LOve and the Special Sauce concert at the City MArket here in KC. This singer is pretty well known in the states and is starting to become a bit more polical in his song writing. G-Love and myself had a few encounters toghether here and there around the country and going early to the concert we got to meet. He at first had trouble recognizing me, because of the saved head, but after briefly talking were we met last he was happy to see us. He was introduced to Bhakta Andreas and got purified there and then after that we gave him Srila Prabhupada's books. He was only willing to take one and revealed that he already had Sri Isopanisad. There was also two ladies present who wanted to get thier pictures taken with G-Love, so I took the picture. The night went smoothly as we distributed outside of the concert to all who arrived and at the end right before leaving the same two ladies who got thier picture taken got the last books distributed that night and gave $20.
