Srila Prabhupada and Pankaja
I heard a horn honking, then someone yelling. I looked toward where the sounds came from and saw an Indian man in a taxi calling me over. He told me that he has the book "Your Ever Well-Wisher." Then he proceeded to completely glorify Srila Prabhupada and how amazing Prabhupada was.
"I just loved the book, and I want to read more!"
I showed him the TLK, which didn't grab him, so I showed him SB 1.1 and told him that Srila Prabhupada spent many years writing these books and wanted everyone to read them.
The man said, "Yes, at night he would hardly sleep, and he would sit and translate."
He asked me how much for the book. After he handed me $10 I asked him his name Pankaja and told him there is a verse in this book with his name. I then recited from Queen Kunti's prayers: nama pankanja nabhaya…" He was a bit suprised that I could do that. Then he became a bit emotional and told me that when he saw me across the road trying to stop people, tears welled up in his eyes.
He said, "Prabhupada wanted people to distributed his books."
Reading about Srila Prabhupada's life had really touched his heart, and mine was also touched to hear him glorify Srila Prabhupada.
