Paramatma Uvaca
In Auckland I attempted to distribute in the midst of the passionate flow of Queen St.
I hit a real lull and was struggling to stop passersby. I also found myself being increasingly distracted by a talented and acrobatic street artist.
Determined to "get back into it," I shouted, "Krishna" and spun around to look for the next customer. I was amazed to see a young Indian lady, who stopped dead in her tracks, being completely caught off guard.
I placed the Teachings of Lord Kapila in her hands and said that I was a monk, meeting the special people. She asked how I had known she is trying to start a spiritual journey and why I had picked her out of the crowd.
Little did I know that I was about to experience one of the most liberating, breathtaking and exhilarating experiences of my life.
Without planning, trying or wanting to speak, the words "So you just arrived in Auckland from Birmingham," came out of my mouth. Knowing that I had not said anything, I looked on as the young lady became completely stunned.
"How did you know? This is too much," she stammered.
Smiling, I simply explained that Lord Krishna tells us everything we need to know and asked for a donation. As she gave a nice donation I requested her to study the book and visit us at The Loft here in NZ.
Last Sunday evening, when Devamrita Swami was in town, speaking at The Loft, I noticed she attended.
This exchange practically demonstrates that there are two souls in every body. The Supersoul stepped forward and took control as I simply watched.
On subsequent reflection I realized how unfortunate it is that through my offenses, I block the Supersoul from directly working like this in the vast majority of exchanges. As such, I can only pray for the blessings of the devotees to enable me to become a better, purer and sharper instrument in Lord Caitanya's transcendental mission.
Sankirtan, ki jaya!
Your servant,
