Mercy for Bob
In the year 2000 I was going to Chicago for sometime to Distribute books and I came across a few quotes from Srila Prabhupada where he said that Chicago was the best place in the world to Distribute his books. I was meditating on this in Mayapura during the festival when I met a devotee named Tranakarta Prahbu. He was a distributor in Chicago during the seventies when SKP there was bigger than ever. He is a big Italian Devotee who used to bounce demons around at Chicago OHare airport when they would disturb the SKP. He was also a big distributor himself and many nectarean experiences he shared with me. One in particular was especially ecstatic. He told me that one day he was distributing books at OHare when he approached one Black bodied gentleman with big Dreadlocks and a smile on his face. He showed him the First canto part one, two and three. They had a nice conversation and the man appreciated the books so much that he gave a donation with tears in his eyes. They also embraced each other. After he left a devotee called Tranakarta over and said, "Do you know who that was?". "That was Bob Marley, the famous reggae musician." Tranakarta hadn't really heard of him. Many years later in the eighties after Bob Marley died his fame increased so much more and then he could appreciate the exchange so much more.
