Nothing Compares to BD (from Mumbai)
It is 2.00 p.m. in the sweltering heat of Mumbai. On this weekend young men and women are partying, going for movies, watching cricket or simply lazing off in deep slumber. But not our devotees. Young Naveen kumar, a student of Thadomal Sahani Engg college has a smarter idea. He along with Sanjeev Prabhu, who also incidentally has free time now, pack up a huge bag full of Srila Prabhupada's books, and hit the streets of Mumbai. Today they are both standing at the main overbridge at Dadar station. Dodging off the 'hafta' collectors, local goons and troubling police constables, the duo is having a great time. Says Naveen Prabhu; "People just want to so-called "enjoy" to there utmost. But this is simply the best. Satisfaction of seeing a person take Srila Prabhupada's book can't be compared with anything else and we just want to go on and on." Sanjeev Prabhu completes his job of tutoring young children in the morning and then joins Naveen. He also keeps his afternoons and evenings exclusively for book distribution. Sharing his partner's enthusiasm, Sanjeev Prabhu exclaims, " We haven't the slightest clue of what's coming up when we approach a person with a book. As he takes a book, however, it sinks in on us that his spiritual life has begun and that's an ecstatic feeling." Both of them owe their spiritual life to Srila Prabhupada's books. " It was during the December marathon, that I first tried distributing these books to my friends and neighbors", confesses Naveen, "and since then I am completely hooked onto it." Sanjeev, having read 'Law of Karma' was immediately convinced of Prabhupada's message and now nurses a desire to share this joy with others, and help as may people as he could to come closer to Prabhupada.
They were both last seen at the fruit market, preaching, and distributing books. Tomorrow they could be at your locality. Join them now and help spread this transcendentally contagious message.
