Observatory staff visits a book table
Griffith Park Observatory is a famous tourist spot in Los Angeles. Tens of thousands of foreigners and locals pass through to view the stars, educational exhibits, and a dazzling light show. It is like a temple of atheism. Perhaps it is the atheistic, Western version of the transcendental Vedic Planetarium that Srila Prabhupada had in mind.
With a little legal shove from a lawyer, Amarendra Prabhu, we have re-established a nice book table there.
Bhakta Jaya Kush was there at the table when a group of employees and scientists came to look at his wares. He was a bit fearful. He knows that basically anywhere he goes in LA he is preaching amid atheists, but this group looked like more than the usual challenge. Was his table under investigation by them?
They looked at everything until they settled their eyes on the BBT calendars. They picked them up and examined the paintings and exclaimed, "How colorful, how beautiful!"
Jaya Kush was so relieved he said, "Oh, you can just take some. They are gifts for you." They said they would hang them in their offices and laboratories. Now these professionals can appreciate Krishna's pictures every day, every month.
