A two-day dose of mercy
*Part 1*
I was in a car park presenting the Bhagavad-gita to Kate, a woman in her mid-twenties who had had a rough past, having been involved with gangs and drugs. She'd even tried suicide a couple of times to escape the gang scene.
She was interested in the book and desperately wanted it. As I asked her for a donation her Mum turned up, having finished her shopping.
Kate immediately shouted to her Mum: “Give this guy some money!”
Her mother looked at me and asked to see the book.
After seeing the Gita, she said, “OK” and handed me $10.
*Part 2*
The following day I was in the same spot. I heard someone beeping a horn and shouting hello. It was Kate.
As she drove past, she roared out: “I want that other book too.”
She was referring to Chant and be Happy. She found a place to park, and I walked to her car. As we were talking, her sister turned up, and Kate introduced me. The sister then went shopping. Kate remembered that she needed some money for the book and screamed at her sister to come back. Her sister turned around just before she rounded a corner and came all the way back to the car.
Then Kate said, “Give this guy some money.”
Kate's sister humbly pulled $10 out of her purse. So I also gave Kate a copy of The Science Of Self Realization.
Your servant,
