Transcendental bartering
Recently, I needed to get the guru-parampara photograph framed for our home altar. Because of its peculiar shape, the photo required customized framing. I located a framing company in Perth and drove to their showroom. The clerk attending me, David, was friendly and talkative. And he recognized Srila Prabhupada and mentioned having previously seen him. I told him that he is the founder-acarya of the Hare Krishna movement.
David has some interest in spirituality and had read a bit of multiple philosophies. We chatted a while, and then he had to be back on business. So I told him how I wanted the photograph framed, and he agreed to do it for twenty dollars.
The next day I headed back to his shop. This time I carried some books with me. David inspected them with interest. I suggested that he read Bhagavad Gita, and he agreed to do that. When I asked for a donation, he immediately suggested that I could have the frame without paying for it. It was a fair deal, and I thanked him and invited him to The Sacred India Gallery:

This platform introduces Krishna consciousness to people new to Vedic culture. He was interested and said he'd like to check it out. As I walked out of the showroom, I thanked the guru-parampara for saving me and helping me share the king of knowledge, Krishna consciousness.
Srila Prabhupada's book distribution, ki jaya!
