Book distribution in Raleigh North Carolina

A few times a week, I take a long japa walk or japa hike. I put four or five books in my backpack and I chant, and I pray that I will be an instrument in Sri Sri Radha-Golokananda’s beautiful plan of bringing suffering souls closer to Their lotus feet.

Generally, I tend to be shy, but since Covid 19, I feel a sense of urgency, and people are amazingly more receptive. So I just sit on a bench or a rock, chanting, and people show up, and I just talk a bit . . . appreciate something about them and make friends.

Today, two ladies showed up, and I had only one book left, but I had mantra cards. After I heard of their struggles, we ended up chanting Hare Krsna together in a small kirtan for five minutes. They took turns leading the kirtan. They were sooooo happy and grateful! Then, we went to my car, and they enthusiastically took five more books and want to become vegetarians.

They said that they will chant every day!

About two weeks ago, I met a nice, intelligent young lady who gladly chanted two rounds with me and took three books.

And when I meet these souls again on my walks, they remember my name and are appreciative.

All this happens a few times a week. People are changing a lot and searching for answers and are so much more humble. It is the best time for sharing Krsna’s message.

Of course, I am very careful and wear a face shield, and they appreciate that. It makes them feel more secure.

Your grateful servant,
Sadhavi Dasi
