Never Give Up Book Distribution

Somehow or other due to the incredible mercy of Srila Prabhupada, My Spiritual Master, Gaura Nitai and all the wonderful Vaisnava's I've been able to continue distributing books. Whenever I feel that I can't continue with full time preaching I analyze why that might be and try to eliminate the obstacle that's in my path or I beg Krishna to give me the strength to overcome it. Lately I've found a natural way to cure chronic fatigue from thyroid disorder and therefore since my health is good for the first time in my life my Sadhana Bhakti has improved, I feel I'm getting more love for Krishna,my book distribution is increasing and I feel much better than ever. I pray I can continue to distribute books for the rest of my life. I've tried all services, but nothing helps me develop love for Krishna like book distribution.
I'm in Perth, Western Australia right now and am getting ready to return to the U.S. for the next six months to do Travelling Sankirtana in my Motor home. I've been doing a little book distribution marathon for Lord Caitanya since Gaura Purnima is coming. Yesterday I had some very interesting experiences. I've really been trying to get absorbed in the mercy of Gaura Nitai during the morning program and their mercy has been flowing out to the conditioned souls. The city of Perth has around 1 million people, but I meet a lot of people that have gotten books before. I met a guy who I had given a few books to before. He asked me if I had a book that dealt specifically with the Law of Karma. Since I have a hundred old Bhagavatams to distribute I just happend to have a 3rd Canto part 4 in my Bag. I pulled it out and explained to him how this book eplains the consequences of certain types of Karma. I showed him the pictures and explained the hellish planets and how they are a subtle realm and there is no eternal punishment. He was very intrigued with the beautiful paintings and philosophy. It's such a nice feeling distributing a Bhagavatam. There was a particular Yamaduta who I said looked like Ozzy Osbourne and he thought it was so funny he bought the book. I met a girl who had gotten a Chant and Be Happy from me and she said she keeps the book by her bed each night and Chants Hare Krishna before she sleeps. I met another guy I also gave a Chant and Be Happy to. He's one of those Artist, Poet/Punk types who has his own philosophy. When I approached him he said he was in a hurry but that book had changed his life. Another guy I gave a book to told me he read the books and wants a more official scripture like the Bible of India or something. I pulled out the Hard Gita and showed him the book and he immediately purchased it. These extra interested people I try to keep in touch with, but I at least invite them to the Sunday Feast and Restaurant.
When I go out to preach I try to go in the mood that all these people are devotees and are my friends but they have just forgotten. About 99% of the people I meet I try to be a perfect gentleman for them and a friend and there is an amazing reciprocation. I don't use any funny lines or get heavy with people or try to squeeze more money out of them. I am trying to do everything in a pure way to Please Lord Caitanya and Srila Prabhupada. Last year I was in Chicago at the Lollapalooza concert and some devotees had been there the year before and a lot of people I had met were unhappy with the way they were dealt with by those devotees. If we aren't pure the people will pick up on it and will be less likely to become Krishna conscious. Many big book distributors I knew didn't have proper dealings on Sankirtana and because they were duplicitous their ill behaviour gradually also entered their relationships with devotees and then they subsequently lost the taste and left Krishna Consciousness. Book distribution is so ecstatic that I never want to give it up so thank you for listening to my realizations and I hope they help you in your preaching adventures.
