A book and association conquers hearts
It was time for yoga and kirtan guests to arrive, I was doing some work behind the servery at Bhakti Lounge when a young lady walked up to the bookshelf. She went straight for Bhagavad Gita. I started up a conversation and learned that her partner had met Bhakta Jordan on books, bought a Science of Self Realisation and they had attended the kirtan program and Soul Feast a couple of times. She LOVED kirtan and was interested to learn more.
I told Jordan of his good work and he humbly asked me to cultivate the couple, Cerridwen and Alex. Cerridwen has just finished her law degree and Alex has a good job in the marketing world, both smart young people. They came to almost every kirtan and soul feast for the next two months.
This was early September, since then they have been traveling around Europe. Just before they left I taught Cerridwen how to chant and she was chanting 2 rounds daily and was especially keen to get a steady practice to keep up with in her travels around the world. I also gave her beads in case Alex decided he wanted to start chanting with her, which after a few weeks he did After two months traveling in Europe their final month abroad is in India. I had connected her with Janesvari in Mayapur where they have just spent a week and with Daivi sakti Mataji in Vrindavan where they have just arrived to spend two weeks staying at MVT. How unbelievably fortunate. Below is a recent letter I received from her:
Dearest Gaura!
We are in Mayapur, and we love it here! Off on a boat ride on the ganges this afternnon. Alex and I have been chanting on our beads and reading the Gita to each other in the gardens, along with monkeys and fresh coconut juice. Pure bliss! This is however the first time since travelling that I have really felt like I stand out, so that is a strange feeling! Thank you for yet another contact, I will be sure to contact her, that sounds amazing! So wonderful to hear things at the Bhakti Lounge are just as beautiful and vibrant as ever.
So much love to you,
Hare Krsna!
Cerridwen xx
They arrive back in NZ late December and plan to go 'home' to Dunedin for Christmas New Years, but we are hoping they miss the devotees too much and come for the recharge festival. Please give these two sweet friends your blessings so they may continue to blossom in their bhakti. We are hoping they will soon have a Srimad Bhagavatam set to use their good brains reading for the rest of their lives and that they become part of the inner Bhakti Lounge community rather than guests.
Your servant, Gaura-arati dasi
