Abhay Chaitanya Dasa, a congregation member of ISKCON Chowpatty recollects
We put up a Stall on the main road near Chembur Station. In front of us, we saw a man crossing the road suddenly get hit by a car. The car sped away. I went over and helped that man to get up. Luckily for him the hit wasn't too bad. But he was in a state of shock. So I took him to the place where we had put up our book stall and offered him our chair to sit on. I gave him some water to drink. He took some time to come out of shock, and then he started saying that this world is such a bad place. No one cares for others. It's really miserable.
Taking the opportunity, I told him that he was right and that the books on our table describe this and also give insights into and lessons how to lead life in the proper spirit. The man got up and browsed through the books. In the end he happily bought each and every book on the table, immensely thanked us, and left.
Mrinali Dasi narattes an experience:
One day I was distributing shop to shop. I wasn't able to do much, but I tried a lot. Finally I reached the Centre One Mall. No results there. Then I was asking auto rickshawalas. I was really working hard. Krishna was soon to reciprocate. A man was watching me doing book distribution without any results.
He called me over and said, "You are doing a good job. Very hard working.
" I asked him, "Uncle, would you take this Bhagavad-gita. You can even give this as a gift."
He took two Gitas. I was elated. Krishna reciprocates surely. But I didn't know that Krishna wanted to reciprocate more. A few minutes later that man came back and took two more Gitas. While leaving, he asked if someone can arrange to send twenty-one more Gitas to his office in Vashi. I called upon Vamsidhar, who went the very next morning and delivered them."
