After a Long Time Three Meaningful Encounters
After a long time of not being active in book distribution I was nervous, hesitant, and even a bit afraid to approach people.
"Krishna conciousness is so simple, you might just miss it."
With that statement by Srila Prabhupada (related by Tribhuvanath Prabhu) in my mind, I just started.
An elderly man with a Nepal T-shirt came by.
"You've visited Nepal?" i asked.
He was a retired, thoughtful geologist, who likes to be in nature, and he left with the Bhagavad-gita.
Later a young man who months ago lost his leg owing to a blood infection (due to just stepping on some glass) asked me whether I had a bag, because he could not carry the book when using his crutches. I didn't, but he left smiling, two crutches in one hand, the book in the other, to ask in the nearby shop for a bag for his new copy of The Science of Self Realization.
A granny and her son stopped. She seemed tired and couldn't really concentrate but looked friendly from a short distance. I told her son that this is medicine for the soul and the real way to relieve disturbances.
He donated for the book and told me that his mother was just released from a psychotherapeutic hospital (she suffers from too much stress). He walked away with the SSR in one hand and his mother in the other.
