Always Take Books with You
VANCOUVER–I didn’t think I would get to distribute books today because I had Nitai to take care of (8 yrs old), but I put a Gita and some medium books in a bag, just in case Krishna wanted to send me a sincere soul. We were walking around Canadian Tire when a young woman approached me about signing up for some kind of credit card. I politely declined while forgetting that I even had books with me, when suddenly I found myself calling, “Wait! Wait!” She came back, so I handed her “Life Comes from Life” and said, “Whenever I meet someone nice like you, I show them these books.” Then I pulled out the Maha Gita and started to preach from it. She decided she only wanted the smaller book, so I said to her: “You really need this book [the Gita]. If you read this book for an hour before going to work, more people will be attracted to your energy and will want to talk to you, making you more successful.”
She went out to the parking lot to get some money from her car, and when she returned she bought both books!
I swear I never thought I would be able to sell books this way! And really, I’m not. Krsna is doing everything! If we are just willing to carry around a few books everywhere we go, Krsna will send someone. Thank You, Krsna, for melting that young woman’s heart and making her receptive to the eternal knowledge about You that Srila Prabhupada has given us in his books,
