Bhagavad Gita Purchased by workers
I was doing one to one book distribution and was walking towards the bus stand. I entered inside the bus campus to only realise that it wasn’t the ST bus stand but was the ST bus garage where all buses are repaired. Anyways I went and tried book distribution there. 20 minutes went by , none of the 10 mechanics (Workers) were interested. So I walked out hoping to try luck now at the bus stand. As I came out, I saw a man entering inside the gate. Quickly I showed him the Bhagavd Gita and started explaining about the book. Patiently he heard me and then said why don’t you give books to the mechanics. I told I tried but no one took. He told me to come with him again and that he will see to it that they buy. As he entered, and the way he spoke, I understood that the man must be the incharge of that workshop. He asked all why they weren’t buying books. NO one replied. 1 worker said that they have no money.
The boss then asked each one to remove whetever money he had from their pockets. 1 man gave 10rs, other 5 rs, other 20 rs… It was finally 100rs and he asked me to give a Marathi gita. He 27 said to his workers that this Gita is a common library book for all of them and that they should each can take and read it. I was very happy. He thanked me. He came till gate to send me off. I asked him his name as I left. He said that his name was Sayeed Sheriff. He was muslim by faith and yet he pushed to give a Gita for his workers. He told me that all his workers are into reading rubbish magazines and that now he would make sure that all his workers will definitely read the Bhagavad Gita. I thanked him and left.
