Bhakta Prahlad Made the Day…
It was the end of the day at the college table and I was feeling a little sad that the kids had not been very interested. Many already had books from us and only a few seemed to want more. I started praying,"Please Krishna, send some really interested person before I leave, please."
Then immediately arrived Bhakta Prahlada. He was only 19 years old and he came to LA from Bangalore to go to college. He is by himself in America for only two months and a bit unsettled. He was happy to have received a Bhagavad-Gita As It Is from another devotee on another campus. He told me all about Bangalore temple and he also said, "I like ISKCON because in my country most people who run temples do it for business, but I don't think ISKCON is like that."
I had a Bhagavatam on the table so I opened it up to the verses in "Divinity and Divine Service" regarding the difference between pure religion and cheating religion. He chanted the Sanskrit to "sa vai pumsam paro dharmo" very nicely.
He said he is definitely coming to our Sunday feast program so i told him where to find Sastra Krit Prabhu at the book table out front. This is what I love about book distribution. I will leave this body in a few more years and I am not at all ready for it, but at least I know i can die feeling like I helped to give innocent people a chance for spiritual life.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada's marathon soldiers! All glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Your servant,
Karuna Dharini dd
