Book Distribution Bus Party Part – 02
We were 7 people on the bus party to Amravati, a district in Maharashtra state of India. This happened in a village called Shirajgaon. I was doing door to door book distribution and seeing a mediocre response I decided to do go for the banks and offices. I came to know that there is a local Maharashtra bank at walking distance from my location. so I was knocking doors and enquiring from the villagers. It was 11am. Mostly the village streets go empty after 10am because the farmers leave for their fields.
I approached a home where the main door was open. I peeped inside to find out if anyone was there. A man and woman were talking and they asked me to come in. I took four steps inside and asked them the route to Maharashtra bank and what they told me was a simple 30 steps route with 2 turns. I came out.
Then, the man in the home called me over into his house and asked me what I was doing. I told him I am distributing Bhagavad Gita, ShrimadBhagavatam and Krsna book; all Marathi language. I told him that this version of bhagavadgita is bonafide because the writer comes in parampara, disciplic succession. I showed him the 32 gurus of our parampara. and hedecided to buy 1 set of these 3 books and then he asked for 1 more BG for gifting to his relative.
The guest in their house was particularly very inquisitive and he asked very intelligent question but did not take the books. So I came out giving 4 Mahabig books to that family. I had walked only 10 feet when the family called me back and told me that their guest was interested in buying the books. But in reality the guest was little hesitant. So they coaxed and prodded him to buy the book, telling him that it is better to read these books than to watch TV which only degrades the consciousness.
So even the guest took BG as it is and Krsna book.

Realizations:
6 books were distributed in single home where I did not even ask them to buy books at the very first instant. I then decided that instead of being selective better that I approach everyone.
It is not us who distribute books but actually Krsna and Prabhupada. We are just an instrument.
