Book Distribution in South Africa with Madhu Mangal Prabhu
On my way to buy a juice at a Quick-shop, I approached a young man sitting on the pavement, his attache case next to him. He was obviously waiting for a lift home after work I surmised.. I introduced myself to him, and asked him what he was doing sitting on the pavement. As I thought, he was waiting for his lift. I asked him where he worked. He told me that he was an accountant. I showed him Srila Prabhupada's books – he looked through them with great interest. I began to speak about the teachings and principles in Srila Prabhupada's books and we spoke for some time. I asked him if he would like to take a book. He took a Chant And Be happy and gave me ten ran for it. I thanked him very much for taking the book and invited him to our Sunday and Wednesday programs. On my way back from the Quick-shop, I passed him, still sitting on the pavement reading the book.. I said to him, "Don't forget to utilize the knowledge in the books, okay." He called out to me, I turned around, with a look of wonderment, he said, "Hey wait a minute, come and look here, this is amazing. I asked him, "Did you find something of interest in the book?"
He held the book up for me to see, and showed me the page before the preface, Words From George Harrison. I read: Everybody is looking for KRSNA. Some don't realize that they are, but they are. KRSNA is God, the Source of all that exists, the Cause of all that I was, or ever will be. As GOD is unlimited, HE has many Names. Allah-Buddha-Jehovah-Rama: All are KRSNA, all are ONE. By serving GOD, through each thought, word, and DEED, and by the chanting of HIS Holy Names, the dedevotees quickly develops God-consciousness. By chanting, Hare Krsna, Hare Krsna, Krsna Krsna Hare Hare, Hare Rama, Hare Rama, Rama Rama, Hare Hare, one inevitably arrives at KRSNA Consciousness. (The proof of the pudding is in the eating!) In his own handwriting was written: All you need is Love (Krishna) hari Bol, signed, George Harrison. 'I can't believe it, I heard a song last week by Boy George, Bow Down Mister. The song has been playing over and over my head. The amazing thing is, there is only one part of the song that keeps repeating itself, he then pointed to the Hare Krsna Maha mantra.
Thinking back now to George Harrison and his passing away, how many people he has helped chant Hare Krsna. This is indeed, Chant And Be Happy! Thank you dear George!
