Book Distribution in the wild wild west
I just heard this story from Radha Kund Prabhu. This is from 1971 in St Luis Missouri USA.
He was distributing in a parking lot when he approached a big man that was getting ready to enter his car. He asked the man where he was from. The man said he was from Texas. It turns out that this man had just returned from Vietnam where he had been fighting in the war. Radha Kund handed him a Krsna book and explained a few things about the book. Then the man pulled out a gun pointed it at his head and said "If this book doesn't have Jesus Christ in it I'm gonna kill you". Radha Kund was quite scared to say the least, it was dark in the parking lot with only the two of them and this man had just come from war where killing was his daily activity. He was only seventeen and had been a devotee for a very short time. He looked at the book and said "Well sir, the Greek word for Christ is Kristos which comes from the word Krsna, and he pointed at the name "Krsna" on the book. The man said "Oh, alright I'll take one". He gave a donation and took the book.
