Book Distribution is a miraculous service
In central London I met Rex, a Court judge. He has Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita and informed me with a big smile that he had just eaten at Govinda's. Jaya!
Next day I met Linda, a retired psychotherapist. In her words she is "really seeking" and has done some meditation. She lit up when she got the Veda book (a book similar to SSR), Chant and Be Happy, and A Higher Taste, I told her about chanting Hare Krishna and about the Sunday Feast. She felt very enthusiastic to go.
Next day I met Julia, who was from Denmark. At first she rejected the Veda book, but weakly, so I said, "Just before you go . . ." and then showed her the picture of the changing bodies, then a pic of someone having an out-of-the-body experience, then a girl who remembered a past life.
I asked her what she did, and she said she had just been to see a psychologist. I explained that psychology replaces your broken mental template. And because it's a solution on the mental platform, it's impermanent, so when something big enough happens to change it, then you will have to go back to the psychologist, and then the pattern repeats.
She started crying as I was talking, the tears falling on her coat. As a brahmacari, I felt a little out of my depth. I thought, "O Krsna, what am I gonna do? This girl is crying right here on Oxford Street."
I just kept talking, explaining that self-realization and Krishna consciousness are the permanent solutions. Then gradually the tears stopped and she smiled.
I said people take books and give a donation. She took the Veda, Chant and Be Happy, and Higher Taste and was very grateful.
So this book distribution is a miraculous service, we meet amazing souls and have amazing experiences. It's very satisfying to act as the instrument for Lord Caitanya. We seek the blessings of the Vaisnavas to always be allowed to do this sublime service.
Your Servent,
Bhatka Adam
