Book distribution is Leipzig Germany

Leipzig, Germany

In Leipzig a devotee opened the a Govinda's after many years of there being none in the city. And inspired by devotees in Oslo, he made a rule that all devotees who distribute a book or go on a harinama can eat for free.

Coming from a meeting with the Govinda's crew, I told this to the bhaktas on the traveling temple-bus – in jest, because Govinda's crew had invited us anyway, but Bhakta Andreas took it really seriously. Because he had to do some repair work on the bus that day, he was worried that because he could not go out, he would not be able to eat at Govinda's.

We were all gone, and he was at the bus when an old lady approached him and asked, "Could you help us put on a spare wheel, we got a flat tire?“

She was waving a ten-euro note, and Bhakta Andreas immediately spoke about our mission as Krishna devotees and gave her two books. While changing the wheel at their car, he talked to them about Krishna, karma and good fortune. Thanks to his strong meditation to distribute some books, Krishna sent along this older couple, and at the end they were quite happy due to his helpfulness, friendly behaviour, and the books.

So they left, and in the evening when we were sitting at Govinda's, he told us the story.

"While Christoph and Alex were on their way back from book distribution, a old man crossed the street behind them, and just at the moment he was next to them, he fainted and fell on the ground. They quickly helped him up. One devotee cared for his bleeding forehead, while the other went looking for help in the nearby train station. He returned with two service-workers.

In the meantime one passer-by had wanted to bring the drunk man home, but on the way it turned out that the drunk man could not remember his address, so they came back. Then the two service-workers were caring for the drunk. They called the emergency number, while the bhaktas were preaching to the driver of the service car. They gave him a small book, because he is kind to the unknown people. He asked about their life as monks and wanted to give a donation for the book, refusing to take it as a gift.

So in the end the drunk old man was part of an arrangement whereby a lost soul got the opportunity to go back to Godhead by receiving a book. And two bhaktas went from "a bad beginning to a good end"."
