Book distribution on Gaura Purnima
While chanting, I meditated on how can I serve my guru and Mahaprabhu on this blessed day. I had to reach the venue where we were to celebrate Gaura Purnima by 10 A.M. to decorate for the evening program. So there was not much spare time. Nevertheless, I made up my mind to try and distribute the Bhagavad Gita on my way to the venue.
I stepped out of home with two copies in my bag. As I headed to the bus stop, a local Singaporean man was walking down the road, perhaps returning from his morning jog. I decided to ask him. Surprisingly, he expressed interest, as his sister reads a lot of books from the Buddhist faith. I suggested to him that this would be a nice gift for his sister. He was interested and enquired several times why I was distributing these books. I just repeated that these books have helped me, and so I like to share this knowledge with others. Finally he decided to get the book. I gladly handed him the book along with two packets of Krsna prasad.
Happy to have distributed a book on Gaura Purnima, I got onto a bus. I approached a fellow passenger who was wearing a Punjabi suit. While talking to her, I realized she belonged to the Muslim faith. She said she originally hailed from Bali, Indonesia and had no Indian connection. Nevertheless, I told her about the Bhagavad Gita As It Is. As I talked to her about it, she expressed interest and finally decided to get it. I gave her the book and a packet of Krsna prasadam and also invited her for the evening program.
Super joyous about distributing books on Gaur Poornima, I finally reached the venue and spent the rest of the day immersed in some seva for Mahaprabhu.
