Books are being directed to those searching for Krishna’s love
Francis owns a fruit-market stall outside Shepherds Bush Station. I decided to instigate a friendly chat and slipped a Higher Taste book in his hand. He instantly loved the book and confirmed that he was a firm believer in the phrase “we are what we eat.” And it is for this very reason he loves selling fruits.
He immediately reciprocated with gratitude by slipping his hand into his pockets and giving me a handful of coins without my even having to ask for a donation.
Our conversation deepened. He told me he was involved in an unprovoked attack in Australia in 2017 which resulted in his being in a coma for two and a half months and hospitalised for eleven months. He died three times in hospital during three separate operations.
He has little recollection of any out-of-the-body experience, though these unfortunate events transformed into a most auspicious event, of him realising a state of higher being. He explained how he now has unflinching faith in a higher mysticism, which has kept him going and helped him persevere in relearning how to walk.
He told me that he wants to increase his faith by understanding more about who saved him. That was the perfect moment to introduce him to the Bhagavad-gita. I explained this amazing book will lead him to a beautiful path of unfoldment, insight, revelation, and an awakening of God consciousness! He was truly moved and excited. He gave me his contact number so that he can attend one of our Manor retreats.
I was also left feeling, in great reverence, that Srila Prabhupada’s books are being directed to those that are searching deeply for the love of Lord Krishna!
