College customers: mystified and amazed
While I was distributing at Moor Park College, a lady came to my table and was happy to see the Bhagavad Gita. Then she started looking at other books. I asked her whether she already had the Gita, and she did. I asked how she
got.
She said, “I bought a car, and the book was in the car when I bought it. It was the most inspiring book I ever read. And what’s amazing is that IT came to me.”
There’s a saying in India: “There’s a person’s name on every grain of rice.” That can be said about every one of Srila Prabhupada’s books as well. Krishna knows whose hands the book is going to end up in, and we just have to be His good instruments and keep pouring them out. Krishna is the master of mystics, and His books being nondifferent from Him are also quite mystical.
Recently, I was distributing at Santiago Canyon College when I motioned to a student to come to my table. He’s a student of psychology. I showed him a book and mentioned that I’m a traveling monk.
His jaw dropped, and he said, “I dreame last night that I would meet a monk today.”
I said, “Your dream has come true.”
He happily took some books, and we talked a bit about the books he had just received, and then he went on his merry way. Book distribution is so amazing. We even sometimes show up in people’s dreams.
