Crazy or not?
Last year I was in LA for a short time. One morning I was waiting for a bus to go downtown to distribute some books when I saw an older women nearby who looked very interesting. She seemed crazy — talking to herself, wearing a simple dress and home slippers.
I thought, "Krsna, who is she? She's also a human being and deserves Your mercy."
After a couple of minutes she came directly up to me, trying to say something that sounded like "Do you have money?" I didn't reply, but just kept watching her. She repeated her statement again and again, and finally I understood she was not asking money from me but wanted to give money to me. In fact, she was eager to give me $5, which was all she had.
I gave her a book and told her: "Please take this book and keep it at home; it will help you."
She thanked me again and again, and then she left just as she had arrived .
