Fridjof’s family is receiving books from Fridjof
During the marathon I stopped an elderly gentleman named Fridjof in New Plymouth (on the west coast of New Zealand), who was surprised to see me with a Bhagavad-gita in my hand.
He exclaimed, "I've read it and I love it."
He was familiar with Vedic literature, and we proceeded to have a wonderful discussion about Krishna's teachings in the Gita. After this, I showed him 'Chant and be Happy'. Taking out his wallet, he enthusiastically donated $20. We then exchanged details and parted ways.
Two weeks later I received a phone call from Fridjof. He explained how much he loved the book and asked me to post one to his brother in time for Christmas. I sent a copy immediately.
The day after the marathon finished, I arrived back at the brahmacari ashram in Auckland to find a letter from Fridjof. It contained $40 and a heart-felt letter of appreciation for the work I was doing.
A week later I gave Fridjof a call. He told me that his daughter, a high-powered lawyer in New York, had just started exploring meditation. On learning this, he sent her his copy of 'Chant and be Happy' and is eagerly awaiting her response.
It is wonderful how Fridjof is spontaneously benefitting his family in the most significant way.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada's transcendental book distribution!
Your servant,
Stambha-bhava Dasa
