From an unripe to a ripe mango
A young man approached me and asked with some excitement what the book with the yellow cover was that I was holding.
I said, "The Bhadavad-gita."
His name is Owen, and he explained that a few days before he had walked past me and glanced at the yellow cover. That night he had a dream wherein the Gita appeared to him, and he became attracted it. This then inspired him to search for me and the book. He would return every day to the place where he saw me, and after three days of looking he found me.
As we talked about the Gita, it was confirming a lot of what he was thinking. He gave a donation and purchased a copy. I invited him to our temple, the New Govardhana farm community, for the Sunday feast.
He was unable to attend, but he contacted me and wanted to come to the Sunday feast. He was reading the Gita and was watching YouTube videos of Srila Prabhupada.
At the temple he listened to a lecture given by Prahladananda Swami and a kirtan, and he enjoyed a wonderful feast. He purchased "Your Ever Well Wwisher" and a book on chanting Hare Krishna.
On his own, he checked out our website for New Govardhana and registered for the karma-yoga program: He will stay at the farm for a month and do service in return for accommodation and prasadam.
He mentioned to me, "To have the full experience, it's best if I devote myself to this process for a month."
Doing sankirtan, we don't know how ripe some of the people are for bhakti-yoga. If we can bring them to Srila Prabhupada and Krsna, they will become as sweet as a ripened mango in no time.
