From the temple to the airport, it was book distribution to all

At the Sakshi Gopal temple, my son and I were approached by a very elderly gentleman who was pleased to see us with Srila Prabhupada’s books. He spoke in Oriya, describing how beautiful and well-organized ISKCON is, how wonderfully and systematically the devotees are distributing knowledge about
Krishna, and how Prabhupada has done such a lasting service to Krishna. He then took books for himself, even though he claimed to be uneducated. Some nearby locals told me that the man spends his days and nights writing spiritual poetry and singing it for the Lord’s pleasure.

I asked the man if he would please render Srila Prabhupada’s instructions in poetry, and he said, “Oh, my consciousness will be purified by this great Vaishnava.” He couldn’t stop admiring the beauty of the books. He told me how fortunate I am to be associated with Srila Prabhupada’s movement. Looking at my son he said, “He is immersed in this from his birth, what a
fortunate soul.” I offered my heartfelt obeisances to this gentleman, and he gave me a nice donation for the books.

Wherever I went on this trip, I carried books, and it became second nature to ask everyone to take a book. From the check-in agents at the airlines to security guards, officers, co-passengers, washroom cleaners, and so many more, people took books and joyfully gave donations.

Your servant,
Mahabhagavat Dasa
