Mormon Man

Hare Krishna

I approached a Mormon man, who pushed the book away.

"No, different beliefs."

So I asked him whether he had been taught the ultimate yet, as far as Mormon beliefs. He was a little surprised that I knew about how the ultimate teaching is that some select ones are eligible to become one of the gods.

I said that Joseph Smith had some insight into how to become one of the gods, but that the Vedas fill it in more. Even detailed knowledge of the heavenly planets, different powers, etc. Then I explained the temporary nature of this, and how it was just material and how the demigods are actually waiting in line to take birth on this earth planet so they can be engaged in Hari Nama, the recommended process for spiritual realization, chanting the Lord's holy names, so they can quickly become spiritually perfect and go back to the real, eternal spiritual world.

In the heavenly planets, I went on, you only live for hundreds and thousands of years, and it is so nice compared to here that you easily forget about spiritual life. So the gods are described as "lining up"!

He immediately took a book and gave a donation.
