Overcoming religious prejudice
I stopped a nice black lady and showed her the books. She was super excited about getting the books, but she didn’t have any money. She went to her car parked nearby, to get some cash from her husband.
She returned with a nice donation, but she said her husband is a Christian and won’t let her take a Hindu book.
I said, “These books talk about love of God, not just for Hindus. It’s universal.”
With full enthusiasm she said, “That’s exactly what I thought. Can you please look at the car and see whether my husband is watching?“
I looked and responded, “No, he is not.”
She immediately gave a donation and took two books put them inside her big coat and walked back to the car as if nothing had happened.
