Paperback Fun
Dear Prabhus,
Please accept my humble obeisances.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada.
On our morning walk today, Brighupati Prabhu started in fits of laughter. We enquired as to what the fun was and he related a pastime he had yesterday at LAX.
Prabhu was in his favourite spot, Terminal Six, and was hitting up a basketball player. The guy was unable to offer a donation for a hardback, so Brighupati Prabhu offered to swap it for a paperback. He agreed so Brighupati went to get one for him from his stash of books, kept behind a bank of monitors displaying arrivals and departures. Prabhu went around for the book but on return could not see his customer. He returned to the backside of the monitors again to see if he had followed him there; again no sign. So he returned but again no sign, so again to the backside.
It turned out that the basketball player had gone around the other side of the monitors to see what Brighupati Prabhu was doing there, couldn't see him, so returned to the front side, but couldn't see him there either.
All in all the two of them were performing a comedy routine reminiscent of the 'Three Stooges', and when they and onlookers realised what was going on, all were in stitches laughing.
Simply the recollection of this had Brighupati Prabhu laughing uncontrollably for a good while this morning and this set us all up for another blissful day in the service of Sri Sri Rukmini-Dwarkadish.
Your Servant,
Vraja Kumara Das
