Prabhupada is personally driving this sankirtan mission

Please accept my humble obeisances.

All glories to Srila Prabhupada.

I was standing at the intersection of Avenue Road and Davenport in Toronto when some nice devotees said we could go to the temple to take prasadam and then I would get a ride to where I needed to go for sankirtan. I almost decided to go with them, but something in my heart said I should not go, as it was already time for my sankirtan service. So I said no and ran across the street to head off to a nearby sankirtan spot.

After crossing the street I noticed a lady coming out of the dry cleaners with her little girl. I asked her if she had heard of yoga or meditation and she said yes. I showed her a copy of "The Perfection of Yoga," and she said that she’d heard of the Bhagavad-gita. She started to express her appreciation for the little book very much and then explained that she goes to a Swami Narayan temple and practices chanting.

Excited to hear that, I showed her the Isopanishad and explained that it’s like a sequel to the Bhagavad-gita. While appreciating the Iso, she suddenly said she liked Ganesha very much. I told her these books were written down by Lord Ganesha, following the dictation of Vyasadeva. She was very happy to hear that and then started to tell me how she has another book at home she likes to read — which turned out to be "The Science of Self-realization." She had gotten it from a sankirtan devotee. I told her it was written by a monk and showed her a picture of Srila Prabhupada. She instantly recognized him and said, "Yes! Yes! I’ve seen him."

I was intrigued. "Seen him where?" I asked.

She explained, "When the Hare Krishnas were parading on Yonge street, this monk was there and I saw him. He was wearing yellow-pinkish clothes." Then she said that she knew him. Next she opened the other book and read aloud "His Divine Grace," repeating it several times, saying "Yes, I know His Divine Grace."

I now understood that she’d seen the murti of Srila Prabhupada seated on one of the Ratha-yatra carts.

She was happy to give a donation for the books and said she wanted to keep in touch. Then as she was leaving I showed her how to chant "Gauranga." We exchanged emails and then she left, saying Gauranga three times.

Srila Prabhupada is personally driving this sankirtan mission, and all the demigods are assisting him.

Your humble servant
