Saarijarvi
I was distributing in a town in Finland when a lady around 40 but quite devi-like, as we say in Sanskrit, entered the post office outside of which I was distributing. There was hardly anyone else around, so I waited for her to come out. As soon as she saw me she said, "I’m not going to buy anything." Not angrily, but sharply.
I didn’t care and managed to get the book in her hand. I recalled Bhakta Ilkka’s stories from previous days, in which he recounted his expertise in flattering ladies.
As the lady read the back cover of “Teachings of Queen Kunti,” I said, " This book is meant for very intelligent people like you.”
"Oh, please don’t flatter me," the lady said with a big smile. Her mood seemed to be changing.
After a short exchange and she took the book. Then, as she began to read, she exclaimed, "Oh, but this is a Hare Krishna thing! Wonderful!"
One of our previous TPs is a childhood friend of her husband’s, and they had just recently been discussing us.
Then she concluded: "It is no coincidence that I met you. It is so good that you were here. Thank you!"
