ISV Starts with Several Sets Distributed
One morning, the ISKCON Silicon Valley devotees heard an inspiring sankirtana seminar and kirtan by Vaisesika Prabhu. Then, surcharged with renewed energy, teams went out on book distribution.
This marked the beginning of Sankirtan 2016 at ISV!
The kids did not want a break that. They wanted to go out to distribute books. We started with a prayer to make us instruments to distribute CC and SB sets.
In the first home, we found that the family actually reads SB regularly at some friends' home in a group, though they did not have a copy. Srinivas Prabhu, Vivek Prabhu and Sridhar Prabhu eloquently glorified the Bhagavatam. The kids presented the glories of SB and the glories of CC.
Then all the kids then started playing as we were discussing with the hosts, but Aprameya did not move from the discussion even for a minute, and he added so many wonderful points to the discussion. This family's accepting the CC and SB was the special mercy of the Lord.
At the next home, the family were devotees of Lord Krishna. They named their son Krishna. They read Vishnu Sahastranaam. One person mentioned that he never forgets Krishna even while eating, sleeping, or working. He invited us in just because we were carrying Lord Krishna's books. He realizes he is part of Krishna and has a special relationship with Krishna. He was concerned that the Bhagavatam's pictures of Ugra Narasimha Dev entailed having to do some and strict worship of Ugra Narasimha. We mentioned, though, that we worship this Bhagavatam, the literary incarnation of the Lord, with our intelligence by reading regularly. Prahlad Maharaj prays that the ferocious form of the Lord strike fear in the hearts of demoniac people, but grant protection and fearlessness to His devotees. The gentleman became very satisfied by this glorification of the Lord, and he showed us a necklace he was wearing with Lord Narasimha Dev's picture. The couple paid with a check and accepted a SB set with respect and devotion.
