Setting Goals
Hare Krsna,
Please accept my humble obeisances, all glories to Srila Prabhupada!
Three years ago, the North American leaders began setting collective goals for North American Sankirtana. In 2012, the leaders set a goal to increase book distribution by 20% and achieved a 26.5% increase. In 2013, they set a goal to again increase by 20% and they achieved an additional 28% increase. In the beginning of this 2014, the North American leaders set a goal to not only increase overall book distribution by 10%, but to also distribute at least 1,500 Srimad Bhagavatam sets and 500 Caitanya Caritamrta sets in the process. To date, the devotees of North America have distributed nearly 1,000 Srimad Bhagavatam sets, have already achieved their goal of distributing at least 500 Caitanya Caritamrta sets and going into December, the biggest book distribution month of the year, they have recorded an 8% increase over last year. This leaves only a little more than four weeks to improve the overall book distribution by at least 2% more and to distribute a minimum of 500 more sets of Srimad-Bhagavatam. So come on Prabhu’s in North America! it's very important that this goal is reached. Everyone's contribution counts. Please make an extra effort. As Vaisesika Prabhu says, "Goals are Potent," as they set an incentive to do something nice for Krsna. Prabhupada would also set goals.
This is something temples from around the would can learn from, set a goal and try your best to achieve it.
