Success mantras for distributing books

Success mantras for distributing books

I don't want to brag and have my scores drop, but I do want to share my results for the purpose of seeing book distribution increase. I'm using some mantras and going out about eight hours. I've averaged about twice the BBT price on the donations I get. In the last eight days, I averaged one hundred maha big books per day, plus about ninety pamphlets and twenty-five medium books. Here are the mantras:

Excuse me. Are you a student here? [I hand the person at least two maha-big or big books, with the Gita on top.]

This is the original philosophy from India. [I use “yoga” or “meditation” for ladies.] I'm a traveling monk, getting these books to smart/cool people, to make the world a better place.

Have you heard of the orange one [the Gita]?

[If the answer is no:] Einstein liked it. Cool quotes on the back. [Flip it over.]

Gandhi, Thoreau, Emerson. It's considered the king of education or the best book for understanding enlightenment.

[If the answer is yes:] This is an authentic copy – there are hundreds of bogus ones. [Then continue with the same description as when the answer is no.]

I like to meet smart people with “the real stuff.” You have good brains/vibes/IQ/energy. People take (millions of) them and give a donation.

We're monks, not making bucks off you good people. Will you please give a (little/whatever) donation to help cover the costs?

[Showing my ID tag and a $20 bill:] A lot of people give a twenty. If you can't, I can break a big bill.

[Gift cards, if low or no donation:] A lot of people give gift cards from Starbucks or Walmart.

[Swipe:] Have you heard of the square wireless app that takes any kind of cards? [Showing app and square.]

[They have nothing:] How about a pamphlet? [Or small book if they're really interested.]

[Whatever the transaction:] Is that OK? [Wait for response. If response is at all hinting at not more than OK, then stop and make it more than right in their mind.] Have a great day/life!

Your servant,
