The Doctor Gets the Mercy
I recently heard from a devotee how he came to Krsna consciousness, it's kind of interesting so I thought I'd share it. This person was in medical school when he found a "raja vidya" that his brother had recieved from a devotee. From reading raja vidya he decided he needed to read the Bhagavad Gita, which he found in the university library, he read it and found it interesting but not enough to give up his medical career and join the Krsna's. Then a few months later he found the Srimad Bhagavatam in the library, so he started reading, and reading, and reading. He loved Srila Prabhupada's books so much that he decided during his school break to go to the local Hare Krsna temple in Brisbane and just sit and read Prabhupada's books with the devotees for seven days. However, when he got to the temple the first person he saw asked him to help him with the garden, which he did all day. He continued visiting the temple and within a short time moved into the asrama. While he was living in the temple he continued with his studies and graduated. Then he, while living in the temple worked as a surgeon making a lot of money and giving it to the temple. But, after a while he became discusted with the work, which he said was like a carpenters job, he used a saw, chisle, hammer and whatever else is used by carperters, it was also a very dirty job. His name is Antardvipa Prabhu and is now in charge of the gurukula in New Govardhana farm Austrailya, which has 28 children. All glories to Srila Prabhupada's books.
