The Gita Arrives Timely
Janardana was accompanying me on door-to-door book distribution in Adilade Australia for the day. Before we left, I had prayed to Sri Sri Gaura-Nitai and Sri Sri Radha-Shyamasundara here at Adelaide temple that They send us to some souls ready for the mercy of Srila Prabhupada. We ended up at a small beach town and parked the car.
We went to the first house. It was a flat with a couple and their two children. I presented the Gita and explained that it is for relieving stress and teaching about higher values in life. They both seemed to hesitate. I thought that maybe they were annoyed with us interrupting their privacy and were going to tell us they weren't interested.
Then the lady came up to me and started looking closely at the Gita saying that actually this wasn't their house. They were there temporarily for cancer treatment. She had just been breaking down asking her husband why she was having to go through all this, especially having young children who would have to suffer if she had to leave the world. She became very emotional and said that we couldn't have come at a better time and that she was very interested in reading the book. I explained more about how this will help her to deal with the situation she is in. I showed her Arjuna's picture and said that he also heard this knowledge at a very critical time in his life.
She showed signs of great relief and said she would definitely give it a good read. We saw her later in the day when we came back to the car, and she thanked us again profusely. We also invited her and her family to come to the restaurant at the temple. They promised they would.
