The Glorious Cell Phones

I stopped two young Chinese ladies which is something I usually do not do. We were having a good exchange but still they didn't seem so interested in the books. Then all of a sudden the cell-phone of one of them rang. She answers and goes a little distance from us.

In my mind I was thinking: "That's it! My sale is finished now." But still I struggled to maintain a conversation with the one that was not on the phone.

The one speaking on the phone comes back and asks, "What is the name of the book?"

"Srimad-Bhagavatam" I answered simply.

She goes back a little further as before and meanwhile I am still trying to have a conversation with the other one in which is nothing working at all.

The one on the phone come back again, "How much?"

I said, "$10 or 15."

She relates that to her friend on the other side of the phone line and then reaches into her wallet to give me $20 and says, "My friend wants this book."

Cell-phones are not that bad after all.
