The last Bhagavad Gita of the day
Hare Krsna,
Quite often Krsna will save the last Bhagavad Gita in my cart for a really special person. Sonny, the last person I met on Dec 22, told me his story about how he tried to commit suicide by jumping off a building. He landed on his head and damaged his spinal cord. He was told that he would never walk again and he couldn't use his body to do anything for himself. He said that he promised God that if he could walk again, he would quit drinking and smoking. While in the hospital, he met a man who performed some kind of healing prayer/miracle to help him. The next day, he could open and close his hands, later, move his arms, and finally his legs. He gave all thanks to God for answering his prayers.
He also said he knew something wonderful was going to happen to him today, on that sidewalk, as soon as he saw me standing there with the book. After telling me his story, he gave all credit to God for sending him Srila Prabhupada's Bhagavad Gita As It Is! After taking the book and giving a donation he asked me to pray for him which I said I would, and then to my surprise he came back and asked if we could pray together. So there, on the sidewalk, with the last Bhagavad Gita of the day, amidst all the passers-by we prayed together for each other, then finished with good wishes for each other and big hugs. So happy for him to get so much mercy.
