The potency of Srila Prabhupada’s books
Six years ago, a beautiful couple visited my Ayurvedic clinic. They looked very decent.
The husband told me, “My wife is pregnant, but we want to abort the child.”
I strictly denied them the abortion, as my husband and I don’t help any patient with the medical termination of pregnancy.
I pacified them. Then I insisted that she carry the pregnancy. As the husband was our regular patient, he respected our advice. Two weeks later, the couple came again.
They told me, “Ma’am, we want this child.”
I was happy and thanked Krishna for giving them intelligence. I requested her to read the Krishna Book.
The husband said, “Sure.”
Thereafter she regularly visited my clinic.
Today (3 Jan 2023) six years later, they again visited my clinic with a cute five-year-old son, with tilak and kanthimala. He chants every day and visits the temple. He accepts only food without onion and garlic.
Both parents are not into bhakti, but the mother did read the Krishna during her preganancy.
They said to me, “Ma’am, you are the child’s real mother, as you saved him.” I immediately said, “No, it was Krishna’s will. Krishna saved him.”
On the way back to my home I was thinking how inconceivable Lord Krishna’s plans are. That fortunate child every day visits NVCC, the ISKCON Pune temple, and eats maha-prasad with his neighborhood uncle. Now he’s insisting that his parents enroll him in the vidyashram.
I encouraged them to send him to the school. Today I was in total bliss and thought of sharing this with all of you. Srila Prabhupada’s books are nondifferent from Krishna.
