The power of prayer and it’s never too late

Srila Prabhupada

While we were trying to sell books for three hours in Nelore, house to house, nobody was ready to take even a single book. It was getting late in the evening, but still praying in our hearts to Srila Prabhupada, we were determined to try. We thought, "Let's try for five more minutes."

Two people came. We showed them books, and they took fifty-three books.

Our hearts filled with gratitude to Srila Prabhupada, we left for the temple.

Recently, we went to an area where we had met some good people. Again we thought of meeting more people in that area. We approached a house and a girl informed us that her parents were not home. We preached to her and wanted to do some kirtan in the house. She agreed and let us inside. As we sat there, her grandmother came in and joined us. She was sixty-four and well educated.

Pointing to a novel lying on a table, we asked, "Who is fond of reading in your house?"

The granny replied that she reads novels. Taking this opportunity to redirect her misguided hobby of reading novels, we preached to her. At last she was ready to take a Srimad Bhagavatam set. Actually, she told us that for the last few weeks, she had wanted to donate some money, but had not been able to go out because of a health problem. She accepted this arrangement as God's arrangement to give her this precious gift.

Your servant, Priyanka
