The Prabhupada Marathon
Devotees are gearing up for the Prabhupada Marathon, a time when we focus on giving people what is their prime necessity: knowledge of Sri Krsna. Srila Bhaktisiddhanta Sarasvati Thakura said that the only lack in society is Krsna consciousness. So many people haven’t heard about the most amazing,
wonderful, kind, beautiful, funny, and compassionate Lord Krsna. Book distribution means reminding them of this Supreme Person.
Devotees are also full of good qualities, especially compassion, so we’re ready to do this austerity to please Krsna. The very life of a devotee is to please Krsna and His devotees. Srila Prabhupada said, “If you want to please me, then distribute my books.” This is what the marathon is about. We are pleasing Prabhupada, who gave us the priceless treasure of his books. Not everyone can go out full time on the marathon, but everyone can do something. As Vaisesika Prabhu says, “If there are a lot of people doing a little, then it becomes a lot.” The more we go out to give Krsna to the people, the more Krsna will give Himself to us.
