Unattentive at first
A week ago, on Sunday, I was standing at our usual place with books and praying to Krishna to kindly guide and inspire sincere souls to buy Srila Prabhupada’s books. A young boy with his grandmother and family arrived at a nearby shop, but they did not pay much attention to the books at first.
Later when they were about to leave, I kindly requested them to take a look at the books, but they did not seem very enthusiastic. I had no choice but to let them go.
A few steps after, the grandmother turned back and asked whether I had an English Bhagavad Gita.
I readily said, “Yes!”
She asked, “Is the Bhagavad-gita a good book to read?”
I replied, “It is the best book available. Specifically, this book has touched and changed the hearts of so many people to become devotees. The best example is standing in front of you. Many years back, I was given a Gita like this, and now you see I am eagerly standing here and trying to give this book to others.”
They were happy and decided to take one. The grandson passed me his number and agreed to come to our temple some time.
All glories to Srila Prabhupada’s transcendental books!
