Urdu Bhagavad Gita at His Doorstep
I was part of the group named Gita express which would book distribution in local trains after the job hours. We would do book distribution between Kharghar and Panvel stations. I would make announcement in the trains. Many would see me well dressed and thought that I must be really earning good from this Gita selling business. But when few people did ask me, I showed them my office card and told them that I too like them was a family man working and that in this month was doing Bhagavad Gita distribution as service to lord and humanity. Many of them appreciated me and purchased books from me. One particular day, I met one drunkard and he asked me some question. I told him the reality. This drunkard also got impressed. But he said that he will not take the Gita. Instead he removed from his pocket a 10 rs note and gave me as a Donation. I was laughing at this exchange. I kept the money. I was thinking that I should use this 10 rs in a nice devotional way to give benefit to this drunkard.
As I got down at Panvel, I met another devotee similarly doing book distribution. We knew each other before. He came up to me and said that he was feeling hungry. I quickly spotted out a person selling groundnuts and purchased groundnut packet with the same 10 rs. I immediately did a quick offering of those groundnuts to the picture of srila Prabhupad on the Bhagavad gita and then offered this devotee the groundnut Prasad. This devotee was very impressed and thanked me a lot. I was very happy that I could use that donated 10 rs money immediately in service to Vaishnavas. I felt Krishna would give that drunkard more benefit as his 10 rs had pleased his devotees.
I would many times distribute books with other devotees in train. Many times our book distribution would also become Sensational where we would run and hand a bhagavad gita to someone as train was moving from platform . Even handing gitas to devotees who had finished his copies and needed more. Once I met with Nitin yeole prabhu were distributing books in train. We were approaching and showing everyone. There was an elderly Muslim man sitting. I went and showed him the Urdu gita. He asked me "where it is printed." I Said" I told You will find it in all cities all over the world". I asked him to purchase one for himself. He said he won’t take now, but if someone could home deliver him , he would accept it. He said he stayed at Vikhroli and gave his address. Nitin prabhu’s office happened to be at vikhroli so he told that he will deliver it. Nitin prabhu went next day to give him the book. The Address happened to be of a local Masjid and the man happened to be a Moulana priest. He was amazed to see Nitin prabhu with the urdu Gita at his doorstep. So he kept his word and purchased one.
