Young Brazillion in Auckland finds Krishna
A young, sincere Brazilian man arrived one Thursday in Auckland. One of his purposes in traveling was to find himself. Come Friday, day two, he walked up Queen Street and met Simon, our new French bhakta, who was having his first experience on the street. Simon invited the Brazilian to the Loft and gave him a magazine; then the Brazilian came across me, further up Queen Street. On day three in Auckland his good fortune increased when he came upon his third shining face on Queen Street, a brahmacari.
The next day, Sunday afternoon, while I was distributing flyers on Queen Street for our six-hour kirtan program, the Brazilian crossed my mind. Only half an hour later I decided to venture into a backpackers’ hostel on the way back to the Loft to offload my last few flyers, and I found the sincere Brazilian sitting there waiting for the time for the Loft to open. He happily and gratefully spent his evening chanting the names of Krishna for six hours.

A Krishna devotee
